ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Nannette Brown is seeking an exceptional Senior Interiors Architect / Architectural Designer to take a leading role on a major, multi-phase New York headquarters project requiring sophisticated architectural design, strong technical execution and an exceptional understanding of complex interior architecture at scale.

We are particularly interested in licensed architects, though significant depth of relevant experience across large-scale commercial, hospitality, retail or similarly complex projects may substitute for licensure. The ideal candidate can work fluently from building scale through highly detailed interior architecture, combining strong technical command with a sophisticated understanding of materials, millwork, lighting, custom fabrication and fine architectural detailing.

Working directly with Nannette Brown, this person will help develop and execute the architectural design vision while coordinating closely with the project’s Architect of Record, engineers, consultants, contractors and interior design team.

Responsibilities include:

  • - Lead architectural and interior architectural design development from concept through construction
  • - Develop plans, elevations, sections, RCPs, details and comprehensive architectural drawing packages
  • - Resolve large-scale planning, circulation, program, core and building-interface conditions
  • - Develop technically complex architectural elements and custom-built features from concept through detailing, consultant coordination and execution
  • - Design and detail custom millwork, built-ins, stone, metal, glass, wood and specialty architectural features
  • - Develop architectural lighting layouts and coordinate lighting intent with the electrical engineer and project team
  • - Coordinate architectural design with structural, MEP, life-safety and specialty consultants
  • - Integrate interior architecture, materials, lighting and FF&E requirements with the interior design team
  • - Coordinate with the Architect of Record on code, accessibility, permitting and technical requirements
  • - Review consultant drawings, shop drawings, samples and submittals for coordination and design intent
  • - Participate in site and project meetings and construction-phase design review
  • - Resolve field conditions and construction-phase design issues while protecting the overall design intent
  • - Establish and maintain organized drawing, documentation and coordination systems appropriate to a complex project at scale

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Nannette Brown is a New York-based design, media and lifestyle company with an established interior architecture and design practice spanning high-end residential and large-scale commercial projects. The practice is known for refined, sophisticated interiors defined by cultured modernity, architectural rigor and considered restraint, with work extending from comprehensive interior architecture and custom detailing to furniture, lighting, art and objects.

That same perspective extends beyond the spaces we inhabit through Master Plan Media and The Living Edit, our digital publication guided by the philosophy of Life Architecture. Exploring personal growth, home, health, food, style and culture, The Living Edit considers design in its broadest sense: not only the environments we create, but the choices and ideas that shape how we live.

Life Architecture is the practice of designing life from the inside out, where our inner architecture shapes our perspective, taste and the world we create around us.
