THE ROLE

Nannette Brown is seeking an exceptional Senior Interior Designer to take a leading role on a major, multi-phase New York headquarters project with an ambitious, highly considered interior architectural and design program.

This role requires a highly experienced designer with 8–12+ years of experience, including significant experience leading large-scale, complex commercial projects across high-end workplace, hospitality, retail or similarly design-driven environments. Experience in luxury residential design is particularly valued, as it remains an important part of the practice, but candidates must bring the scale, technical fluency and leadership experience required to lead a commercial project of this size and complexity.

Working directly with Nannette Brown, the Senior Interior Designer will help develop and execute the overall design vision, bringing exceptional taste, strong design and leadership skills, and an architectural sensibility to the project.

Responsibilities include:

  • - Lead the end-to-end execution of the interior design vision, from research and concept through procurement and final installation
  • - Lead FF&E design and development, including furniture plans, material palettes, specifications, schedules and budgets
  • - Develop technically accurate plans, elevations, RCPs, lighting plans and interior details
  • - Design and detail custom furniture, millwork, built-ins, upholstery and decorative elements through fabrication
  • - Develop decorative and architectural lighting plans, including fixture selection, placement and specification
  • - Research and source exceptional contemporary, vintage and custom furniture, lighting, textiles, rugs, art and accessories
  • - Select and develop architectural materials and finishes, coordinating closely with the architectural team
  • - Lead client presentations incorporating research, design concepts, material studies, renderings and visualization
  • - Manage sourcing and procurement, balancing design with budget, durability, performance and lead times
  • - Review samples, prototypes, shop drawings and custom fabrication for quality and design intent
  • - Participate in site meetings and construction-phase design review, coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors and fabricators
  • - Oversee FF&E and decorative installation

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Nannette Brown is a New York-based design, media and lifestyle company with an established interior architecture and design practice spanning high-end residential and large-scale commercial projects. The practice is known for refined, sophisticated interiors defined by cultured modernity, architectural rigor and considered restraint, with work extending from comprehensive interior architecture and custom detailing to furniture, lighting, art and objects.

That same perspective extends beyond the spaces we inhabit through Master Plan Media and The Living Edit, our digital publication guided by the philosophy of Life Architecture. Exploring personal growth, home, health, food, style and culture, The Living Edit considers design in its broadest sense: not only the environments we create, but the choices and ideas that shape how we live.

Life Architecture is the practice of designing life from the inside out, where our inner architecture shapes our perspective, taste and the world we create around us.
